9th grade will take a variety of courses that introduce them to both social justice and business. Student take Business 100, Ethnic Studies and an English class called Identity and Relationships. Our curriculum is interdisciplinary and project based. Each year students will explore a theme and complete an interdisciplinary project. Students also have many opportunities to develop relationships with peers and the teachers in our pathway through in class activities, field trips, and clubs. Near the end of the first year students will have the opportunity to choose whether or not they would like to continue in the AoF or the AoE pathway.

10th grade students who selected to continue in the AoFE Pathways take classes that are grouped with their peers who are in the same pathway. Students take a Business class in entrepreneurship that corresponds with the pathway. They also take English, World History, and Math together. In the 10th grade as in the 9th grade our curriculum is interdisciplinary and project based. By the second year students develop strong and trusting relationships with peers and adults in the program. Students participate in field trips, projects, clubs and activities. Students who are interested in leadership can represent their peers on a number of committees that contribute to running the AoFE pathways.

11th grade students in the program are well on their way meeting the graduation and A-G requirements for entry into a 4 year university. Students continue to take cohorted(grouped) courses in English, Math, History and Business. The Entrepreneurship pathway takes an entrepreneurship course while the Financial Pathway takes an accounting class. Students continue to collaborate, lead, and learn with partners in the corresponding industry sector. Students continue to learn through interdisciplinary project based learning that explores real world problems that they are empowered to address in innovative ways. 11the graders have many opportunities to participate in clubs, leadership, and community projects as well as receive support from mentors in our mentorship program.

12th grade students continue on the pathway that they started in the 9th grade and committed to in the 10th. All of the previous opportunities continue as options. Students are in cohorted classes for English, Government and Economics, and Business. All 12th graders will have the opportunity to complete a community internship with a program partner. Additionally students may choose to take courses at City College or Advanced Placement courses.

Upon successful completion of an AOFE pathway our students will graduate and be prepared to take the next step in preparation for a rewarding and successful career.
